Privacy Chair theJurists obtains CIPP/E certificate

09 December 2020 | News

Privacy legislation and policy must also be applied in practice. theJurists strives to use insight into the application of the rules to create value for our clients. The CIPP/E certificate is the most comprehensive, up-to-date and sought-after certification for privacy and data protection.

IAPP & CIPP/E

The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is an organisation for professionals who help their organisations successfully manage the risks of data and information and protect their data. The IAPP organises training courses that provide in-depth training in understanding and applying the rules that apply to the collection, processing and management of data.

The courses form a basis for obtaining, after a thorough examination, the ANSI/ISO accredited CIPP/E certificate (Certified Information Privacy Professional).

Privacy compliance as an advantage

At theJurists we believe that privacy regulations should not be an obstacle for your company, but that through privacy compliance you can project a positive image. Within our niche, it is one of the four pillars on which we have been focusing for years.

As Privacy Chair, Duygu Öztürk has been putting this mission into practice for several years now. Based on her Master’s degree in Law & Technology (Utrecht University), she is ideally placed to build a bridge between the requirements of an (IT) company and privacy regulations.

Duygu recently obtained her CIPP/E certificate, which is an objective assessment and recognition of her expertise in this complex matter. She is also a member of IAPP, which gives her access to a global network of resources and professionals.

We are all very pleased that this enables theJurists to meet even more than before the GDPR’s requirement to be appointed as an expert DPO (data protection officer) in charge of compliance monitoring, management of internal data protection activities, training of data processing staff, conducting internal audits and much more.

If you have any questions about this, please contact Duygu at duygu@dejuristen.be.
